Veterinary Medicine degree obtained in a country other than Denmark, EU, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway

Please note:

The Danish Veterinary and Food Authority receives a significant number of applications for veterinary authorization from graduates of veterinary schools outside of the EU.

In 2024, 45 applications were submitted, of which only five resulted in the granting of a Danish veterinary authorization. All successful applicants graduated from accredited veterinary schools accredited by AVBC, AVMA, EAEVE, or RCVS. Consequently, their qualifications were assessed as equivalent to the Danish veterinary degree.

Application

To obtain Danish veterinary authorization, an applicant’s veterinary degree must be equivalent to the Danish veterinary degree. In practice, only degrees awarded by veterinary schools accredited by AVBC, AVMA, EAEVE, or RCVS are considered equivalent and therefore eligible for authorization.
